Buddy had his first soccer tournament last weekend! We were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather, the sun was shining, it wasn’t too windy and there was NO rain!
After a few wet, muddy games we were ready for good weather. Especially if we would be sitting on the sidelines for a good 4-5 hours! We packed a picnic, grabbed our chairs and camera and headed for the fields.
We won our first game against Eden Prairie, not sure of the score, but we won. I was able to get some pictures…and prove to Buddy that he is on the ground more often than he thinks! He did have a good slide tackle which inevitably ended with the other team getting a penalty kick. Apparently he kicked more than the ball, something I am sure he will be working on at home.
We had an hour or so break in the middle of two games which is when we had our picnic and Buddy was, of course, practicing soccer on an unused field.
The 2nd game we lost, but it was still fun. We kept the score close, so it was a “keeps you on your toes” type of game…or the edge of your seat. We actually didn’t lose until the last minute of the game when the other team score two goals. Though the boys were a little disappointed ending in a loss, it was still a fun way to spend the day.
