So back in January I posted about Squeaky’s questions getting better and better…they haven’t stopped yet. The other day she re-questioned me on a topic we had covered before. The ever so exciting topic of “how does a baby come out?” Up until then my answer was “doctors help the baby come out…” and she was happy with that. Well last week she asked “How do doctors help babies come out?” And my loving and knowledgeable 9 year old very anxiously squealed “I know!! Can I tell her?!”
What was I to say? So I told her to go ahead…and she did. She was very matter of fact…”they come out your…” I looked at Squeaky’s face she took it well. But being the mother that I am I asked “so do you have any other questions?” Squeaky got very quiet. She thought very long, and very hard. You could see the wheel turning. The longer she waited, the more reluctant of her next question I became. And then, came the question.
“How do lightbulbs stay in the ceiling???”
Phew. That was a close one. (after she left the room I died laughing…I was very careful NOT to laugh in her presence, as if this is the sort of questions she has for me from now on, I am ok with it!!)
