Squeaky has always had quite the imagination. Forks are her friends, Jena is her best friend and are you ready?? Her REAL name is…..Red Sourpuss Green Chocolate.
Yes, I must admit, all these years out in public of me yelling “Squeaky Ann” when she was in trouble and yet her name is Red Sourpuss Green Chocolate.
It all started this summer when my oldest daughter wanted a “new” name for summer. I agreed to let her pick a name and she chose “Katie.” Which to me, was really funny. Whenever my friend and I played growing up, she was always Lisa and I was alwasy Katie. After Bug picked a name, then Buddy needed one…and can you guess what he picked?? Buddy.
Then Squeaky needed a name. Her first choice was Maleece. Then after a week or two this summer she changed her name daily to something entirely different. Most times it was Purple Sourpuss, or Chocolate Icecream Not For Eating. That was my favorite! A three year old saying her name was “Chocolate Ice cream” and honestly feeling like she needed to clarify she was the kind of icecream that you DIDN’T eat!
So fast forward to December. For the last few months I had heard the Green Sourpuss on occasion at times. But I thought we were pretty much over it….well, I was wrong.
Monday night at dance she had a sub in her class. It was also a mix of two classes since it was a snow day and half the teachers couldnt’ get there, so they combined some classes. After class the sub caught me in the hall.
“I’m sorry, what is your daugthers name? ”
“oh, Squeaky,” I say.
Relieved she says “Oh, good, I couldn’t understand her she said something really long.”
Me, now laughing says “Did she tell you Red Sourpuss Green Chocolate?”
“That’s it, I caught the Chocolate part!!”
Me, blushing told her next time just ask her to spell her name. She will tell you “S-Q-U-E-A-K-Y” and you will be able to figure it out!
I am not sure what to do with that girl…
Do you REALLY think there is anything you can do with her?!?!?!? She is sooo stinking cute!
I am giggling. Sugar doesn’t have such an imagination. Sometimes I worry that she should. I love to hear what other children are doing.
