Finally after 11 years, my son has gotten stitches!! This is really something to be “proud” of, and actually I am very thankful that it has taken so long to join this “club.” Tonight is two weeks after his 11th birthday, we are very blessed that my energized son has taken this long to need stitches. And it wasn’t even him doing something wrong! (another bonus!) He accidentally bumped into our cutting board and the knife was falling off. He tried to catch it before it landed on the ground. His thumb must have caught just right (or wrong) and it sliced across, sending blood gushing. YUCK!!
And can I tell you how much of a boy this kid is??
He is gushing blood. I am holding him still. And his very first thought…are you ready for it?? “Can I still play hockey tonight?!”
I almost think he was more mad about missing hockey to go get stitches than he is about anything else!!
Oh no! I hope he’s feeling OK now! I remember getting a black eye at about that age and thinking it was the coolest thing ever- weird, huh?!!!
oh dear. I hope he heals quickly!
That would be his first thought!!!!!
