As the kids get older, and I get more experienced, I am learning to keep them close to me in order to know what mischief they are into! Buddy is also in middle school now where they have a Home Economics class that he is really enjoying! He comes home daily and tells me all the neat tips he has learned in class. Some being a simple as “wash your hands before and handling food.” Now, you would think that his mother had been telling him that since the day he was born…but apparently that is one of those phrases that when said by your mother is just a nagging noise not to be heard or understood.
Lately when cooking dinner if they are not at the counter doing homework they have been helping me. Some skills are more intriguing than others. As you can see in the photos that follow Buddy is testing his culinary skills with a nice sharp knife. He did very well and was quite proud of his achievement, keeping all 10 fingers.

You can also find Squeaky helping as well. She has a plastic knife and very cool cutter tool. Perfect for mincing! You just have to press in down and it neatly and quickly chopped vegetables into very tiny pieces. Here Squeaky is chopping green pepper for sweet and sour pork.

After dinner this night, Squeaky wasn’t quite done in the kitchen, so we made some cookies! I just love the feet on the counter as the cookies are being made. YUM!!

Look at all of our hard work!!
Squeaky enjoying all that hard work!
THE END!!
Where did you get that chopper, we need that. The squirrlies would dig it!!!!
cooking with kids is so fun.

I love the concentrationon No Touchy Touchy’s face!!! When making the cookies and eating them! Too cute!
